The boys and girls of the project that Fundazioa develops in collaboration with the associations Gorabide and Fundación Síndrome de Down received their diplomas in Lezama
The boys and girls of the Ahalegina project celebrated the traditional end of season party this past Tuesday in Lezama. On this occasion they did it in a special way, training with their teammates from Athletic Genuine, the Athletic Club Foundation team. After the training session, they received their corresponding diplomas that accredit their good performance throughout the season. Finally, they enjoyed a snack to say goodbye to the course.
Ahalegina is a project that Athletic Club develops in collaboration with the associations Gorabide and Fundación Síndrome de Down and is aimed at boys and girls between 8 and 18 years of age with intellectual disabilities. It consists of a series of multi-sport and psychomotor training sessions that are held weekly throughout the year at the facilities provided by Bilbao Kirolak. The aim is to contribute to the psychomotor improvement of the users, as well as to help them acquire everyday skills (hygiene, commitment, effort…).
In addition to this session, several literary gatherings have been held in different centers of the Basque Country, including those held at the Ikastola Larramendi, IES Unamuno or Ikastola Ander Deuna. Upcoming appointments will take place on 10 June at IES Markina and, finally, 17 June at Ikastola Itxaropena.
The book “Makatza” is one of the books that the Athletic Club Foundation has published and distributed free of charge in several schools in the Basque Country with the aim of bringing reading closer to the world of football.
