Meeting between bertsolaris (Basque poetry singers)
Bertsoderbia is a meeting between bertsolaris from Athletic Club and Real Sociedad which is organised to coincide with each date of the Basque derby.
Promoting healthy rivalry
The main objective is to promote healthy rivalry between the two clubs, in the conviction that beyond sporting confrontation, we are united by sport and culture.
This is probably the only cultural activity in the world programmed by two rival football clubs that seek to promote coexistence precisely in this rivalry.

Bertsoderbia is the result of an agreement between our Foundation and the Real Sociedad Foundation
We organise the event when the match is played in San Mamés, they organise it when it is in Donostia.
As the announcement of the date is made at short notice, where and how we organise Bertsoderbia depends on the circumstances. In recent years we have organised events in theatres such as the Sala BBK or the municipal theatres of Amorebieta, Basauri or Mungia, as well as in the street, either on the esplanade of San Mamés or in a travelling edition with several stops in Bilbao.
