The traditional event between bertsolaris zurigorriz and txuriurdines will take place on Sunday at 12:00 at Landetxe Kultur Etxea
The Athletic Club Foundation, in collaboration with the Real Sociedad Foundation, has organised the XXIII edition of the BertsoDerbia, a cultural event that celebrates the passion for football and the tradition of bertso within the framework of the Basque derby between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club. This meeting, which will take place on Sunday, May 4 at 12:00 p.m. at the Landetxe House of Culture in Oiartzun, will bring together some of the best bertsolaris of both clubs to promote a healthy rivalry and strengthen the ties that unite us through sport and Basque culture.
Representing Athletic Club, the bertsolaris Nerea Ibarzabal, Igor Elortza and Aitor Etxeberriazarraga will participate, who will demonstrate their ingenuity and passion for the red-and-white on stage. On behalf of Real Sociedad, the representatives will be Alaia Martín, Maialen Lujanbio and Andoni Egaña, leading figures of txuri-urdin bertsolaritza. The event will be led by Karlos Aizpurua, who will act as gai-jartzaile, proposing the themes that will challenge the creativity of the participants.
The BertsoDerbia, organized since 2012, is a unique initiative in the world, promoted by the foundations of both clubs to promote coexistence and mutual respect between rival fans. Beyond the sports competition, this event seeks to highlight the shared values of Basque culture, with Basque as the protagonist, and to consolidate the commitment of both entities to the normalisation of our language.
