Walking Football
PLAYING FOOTBALL BEYOND AGE
Walking Football is a type of football created so that it can be played by older people
Developed in Northern European countries, the idea is to adapt a series of rules to avoid contact and explosiveness in the game so that it can be played by people over the age of fifty.
The main rule is that no running is allowed, but there are others, such as that the ball cannot be thrown above the waist, which adapt the speed and way of playing for those who are not physically fit for a conventional football match.

Promoting sports
For decades, Western societies have been experiencing a general ageing of the population, which requires measures to be taken to ensure that this ageing is active and participatory.
Football is a tough, fast, contact sport that is not intended for older people. Walking Football seeks to promote sports and active ageing in those people who still love football.
Through the WF, the Foundation reaches out to the group of people over 50 years of age, who often have difficulty continuing to play sports in a group and who are also frequently affected by depression, loneliness or low self-esteem.
The idea is that any elderly person who wants to practice sports can sign up, generating a social network among our users. We currently have almost one hundred active users.
On the other hand, every year we participate in some tournaments, such as the one organized in Breda and Leverkusen by EFDN (European Football Development Network), in which we compete with other European teams, or friendly matches. The idea of the latter is to vindicate the role of seniors as ambassadors of our club.
