COLLABORATING IN THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AT RISK

It is a project aimed at children at risk of social exclusion, aged between five and seventeen, from the right side of the riverbank

As part of a collaboration with the Fidias Foundation, each season we form two mixed groups (5-14 years old) and (14-17 years old) that practice multi-sports with the help of our technicians.

The main objective is to generate a protective environment for these children, many of whom come from broken homes, favouring their educational process and inclusion and promoting a culture of coexistence through sporting, recreational and academic activities.

CHILDREN ARE ACCOMPANIED IN THEIR EDUCATIONAL PROCESS.

The children in this project suffer from a lack of basic resources that prevent them from accessing essential services and at the same time a quality education.

The union of the Athletic Club Foundation and the Fidias Foundation allows us to face their difficulties from two very important points of view for the development of the children: from Fidias they are in charge of school support and other sports and activities such as basketball, dance, theatre, etc. and the Athletic Club Foundation through multi-sports gives them access to participative leisure that will allow them to acquire and improve their behaviour and skills for their daily life.

Weekly trainings in Leioa

Each group trains once a week in the facilities that Fundación Fidias has in Leioa, which is one of the first fields where Athletic Club played, now an indoor football pitch.

In the sessions they work on sporting issues as well as personal behaviour, coexistence, hygiene and daily habits. Here the presence of our coaches is fundamental, as they become authority figures and role models for children who often lack them at home.

Throughout the season, different activities are organised with the aim of continuing to work on the feeling of belonging and commitment with a series of prizes (places on the campus) are awarded to some of those players who have had an exemplary trajectory with the aim of rewarding their efforts.
