Reducing our carbon footprint
This is an initiative that seeks to mitigate our carbon footprint, through which we offset the CO₂ emissions from the travel of our three professional teams (men’s, women’s and Bilbao Athletic) through a financial contribution to the Lurgaia Foundation for the reforestation of the Urdaibai biosphere reserve.

The environmental responsibility for Athletic Club
Athletic Club, like all entities, has a responsibility for the environmental impact that it generates through its own activity. This responsibility is unavoidable.
Collaboration with:
Every season an economic contribution is made to the Lurgaia Foundation, following the calculation of the carbon footprint of our travels.
With this contribution, between 2020 and 2022, 4,000 trees and shrubs were planted in the Urdaibai reserve.
An important part of these plantations have been carried out with social groups with which the Athletic Club Foundation has collaboration agreements, on days promoting sustainability.
