Athletic Club publishes a video with the most outstanding images and statements of the XII edition of the festival
The XII edition of the Thinking Football Film Festival organised by the Athletic Club Foundation was held between the 18th and 26th of December in the Sala BBK with a great success of public. Attendance is growing every year and most of the sessions have sold out, a clear sign that the programme and the discussions after the screenings are of interest to our athleticzale community.
Athletic Club is grateful for the collaboration of Sala BBK, Metro Bilbao, Hotel Meliá Bilbao, Grupo Tecman and EITB, as well as the participation of all those people, media and entities that make this event something very special, the only film and football festival in the world organised by a club, Athletic Club, also in the field of culture, Unique In The World.
The video summary published today condenses the 6 days of the festival. In this edition, twelve films and documentaries have been screened which, as always, explore the most human and transformative side of the beautiful game. Inclusion, equality, human rights, sustainability have been some of the topics discussed in the cineforums, which have counted with the outstanding participation of Iñaki Williams, Pacho Maturana, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Amal Fashanu, Marta Unzué, Iraia Iturregi, Ainhoa Tirapu and Martin Fradkin, among other protagonists.
Notably, the Thinking Football 2024 Audience Award went to the English film ‘Cup 71’, directed by Rachel Ramsay and James Erskine, and produced by the Williams sisters and Alex Morgan.
The Thinking Football Film Festival bids farewell this year leaving a profound echo: football, like cinema, is a universal language that unites us, moves us and invites us to imagine a better world.
