Athletic Club Fundazioa and Lurgaia, together with ADSIS, Osakidetza’s RSM, and the Utopia and Walking Football projects, plant trees to offset the Club’s CO2 footprint
The Athletic Club Foundation and the Lurgaia Foundation, together with the Adsis Foundation, the Gernika centre of the Osakidetza Mental Health Network of Bizkaia, and various people from the Utopia and Walking Football projects, have organised this Wednesday a day of planting native trees that goes far beyond the CO2 Offsetting project in which the event is framed. Working together in favour of sustainability and social inclusion.
Cooperation between different entities is one of the strategic pillars of the work carried out by Fundazioa. The aim is to promote initiatives and activities that facilitate synergies that have beneficial effects for all participants and, at the same time, help to build a better society.
The day is part of the annual planting of nearly 2,000 trees in the Biosphere Reserve, which counteracts the carbon footprint caused each season by the Athletic Club teams’ travels.
On this occasion, 191 oaks, 42 strawberry trees, 4 birches and 9 hawthorns have been planted.
In total, 231 autochthonous trees.
