The boys and girls of the project developed by Fundazioa in collaboration with the associations Gorabide and Fundación Síndrome de Down received their diplomas in Ibaigane
The boys and girls of the Ahalegina programme celebrated the traditional end of season party last Friday in Ibaigane. Ahalegina is a project that Athletic Club develops in collaboration with the associations Gorabide and the Down’s Syndrome Foundation and is aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 18 with intellectual disabilities. It consists of a series of multi-sport training and psychomotor skills improvement sessions that are held weekly throughout the year at the facilities provided by Bilbao Kirolak and the IMD of Barakaldo. The aim is to contribute to the psychomotor improvement of the users, as well as to help them in the acquisition of day-to-day skills (hygiene, commitment, effort, etc.).
On Friday afternoon, around 25 users of the Ahalegina Programme met in Ibaigane. The representatives of the Foundation, Galder Reguera, Gontzal Suances, Igor Arenaza, Diego Feijoo and María Perdiguero, accompanied by members of the Board of Directors Nerea Ortiz and Jon Ruigómez, were in charge of handing out the diplomas. Afterwards, a snack was held to bid farewell to the season until the new academic year.
