A SAFE SPACE FOR LEARNING AND TRAINING
Encouraging the practice of football
This is a project that aims to encourage girls to take up the game who, for one reason or another, have felt excluded from the playing field.

GIRLS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED TO FOOTBALL FOR THE FIRST TIME THANKS TO THIS PROJECT IN ITS FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION.
Football as a socio-educational tool
It is crucial to offer girls the opportunity to play football and to show them and their families that football is a powerful socio-educational tool.
It not only improves physical and mental health, but also promotes essential values such as belonging, tolerance, respect, commitment and teamwork. Our project is aimed at girls aged between 12 and 16 from Bilbao, especially those from families of migrant origin, with the aim of providing them with a safe space for learning and training through sport.
Participation in competitions helps to ensure the girls’ recurrence and commitment to the project.
The teams train weekly at the El Fango/Rekalde sports centre. In addition to the training sessions and competitive matches, we organise parallel activities focused on working on the gender perspective. We want to vindicate football as an ideal space for girls, a space that belongs to them and that they can make their own. In this project, they lead the way, demonstrating that football is a powerful tool for their development and empowerment.
