Two Tribes explores the contrast between the glory days of the city’s two football clubs, Liverpool and Everton, and the socioeconomic decline of Liverpool — a city where football and politics are inextricably linked.

Documentary that tells the story of Everton and how the club reached its peak in the 1980s under the management of Howard Kendall.

Sergio travels to Utrecht with his family to attend a football match. Before catching the flight back to Barcelona, he experiences a panic attack and decides to stay in the Netherlands. Unable to give his family a coherent explanation, he cuts ties with his past. From that moment on, he must survive with very little money and without speaking the local language.

One, Two, Three, Viva Algeria! is a slogan inseparable from the history of Algerian football and the relationship between France and Algeria. The documentary traces the history of this chant, born with the FLN team during the War of Independence, revived during Algeria’s run in the 2010 World Cup, and, in 2019, taken beyond the stadiums to become a call for change.

In the 1970s, the Ukrainian animation studio Kyivnaukfilm produced a popular series of animated shorts titled How the Cossacks…, directed by the master animator Volodymyr Dakhno. The protagonists were three comedic Cossacks who embarked on various adventures. Each episode placed them in a different context: helping peasants, taking part in the Olympic Games, traveling to other countries, or fighting enemies. Its visual humor and lack of dialogue made it accessible to audiences of all ages and languages. It became a classic of Soviet animation and an endearing symbol of Ukrainian popular culture. In this 2025 edition of our festival, we are bringing back the second installment, dedicated to how the Cossacks played football.

Sylvie and Karim have been thinking it over a lot — at every breakfast and on every trip from the toilet to the shower. They are ready to invest the money they earned scrubbing toilets and cleaning the Bellevue Hotel in Sylvie’s ultimate dream: signing a national football player.
