The film LFG (Let’s F**king Go) kicks off a week of film, literature, humour, creativity and football
The Thinking, Letters and Football 2021 festival starts today at 19:00 CET, with the screening of LFG (Let’s F**king Go) in the Sala BBK. The HBO-produced documentary was directed by Oscar winners, Sean Fine and Andrea Nix. Before showing the film, the 2019 Audience Award will be presented to Julián Duque, co-director of “Nossa Chape”.
LFG tells the story of players from the United States women’s national soccer team who filed a class-action lawsuit for gender discrimination just three months before going on to win the 2019 World Cup in France. The documentary focuses on the players who led the cause: Megan Rapinoe, Jessica McDonald, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O’Hara, Christen Press, Sam Mewis and former player Julie Foudy. It’s an intimate and moving look at a group of women who meet the demands of elite sports while showing courage, unwavering spirit and resilience in an effort to create lasting social change for women’s rights.
Entry is free with pre-booked tickets which can be found HERE.
