In addition to their respective weekly training sessions, the Athletic Club Foundation organizes a match between users of two of its longest-running projects
The Athletic Club Foundation, in collaboration with Adsis and Bizitegi associations, has carried out an 11-a-side football sports day that has brought together more than 30 users in situations of social exclusion. This event, part of the usual activities that take place throughout the year, has allowed participants to enjoy a sports experience in an inclusive and socially integrated environment.
The participation groups were organised in two shifts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with the aim of guaranteeing greater accessibility to all participants. Through this initiative, users of two of the longest-running projects of the Athletic Foundation have had the opportunity to participate in a physical-sporting activity that promotes socialisation, teamwork and well-being. This day is part of the weekly activities of both associations, which integrate sports practice as a complement to their social support work.
Since 2012, the project, together with Bizitegi, has been helping adults at risk of social exclusion, mainly homeless people, people over 18 years of age and residents of the Bilbao area. Each season, the Athletic Club Foundation forms a mixed training group, led by specialized technicians, with the aim of offering a periodic sports activity that contributes to the empowerment and social integration of the participants. In addition, it seeks to guarantee their access to leisure and provide them with a space where they can enjoy recreational activity in a safe environment.
On the other hand, the project that the Foundation has been carrying out since 2014 together with Adsis is aimed at people deprived of liberty and ex-prisoners at risk of social exclusion, over 18 years of age and from the surroundings of Bilbao. As with Bizitegi, a mixed training group is formed each season, under the direction of technicians from the Athletic Club Foundation. The main objective of this initiative is to promote healthy lifestyle habits, promoting social skills and new ways of relating, key to inclusion in a normalized life.

Both collaborations have in common the commitment of the Athletic Club Foundation to social inclusion, using sport as a tool to promote the integration and well-being of vulnerable groups. These projects not only encourage the practice of sports, but also play a fundamental role in the socialization process, offering participants a space for support and personal growth.
The Athletic Club Foundation continues its work of social impact, working hand in hand with entities such as Adsis and Bizitegi to generate positive change in the community through sport and inclusion.
