Amaia Agirre and Miren Amuriza will star in a special edition of the bertsolari derby in the build-up to Athletic vs la Real on Sunday
This Sunday at midday, San Mamés will host the first Bertsoderbi to be held before a women’s Basque derby between Athletic Club and Real Sociedad. The traditional bertsolaritza and football festivities organised by the Athletic Club and Real Sociedad foundations will take place shortly before kick-off. Athletic fan Miren Amuriza and Real supporter Amaia Agirre will sing in the centre of the pitch for all those who come to San Mamés.
Since 2012, Bertsoderbia has been held as a cultural event prior to the two Basque teams facing each other on the pitch. The main objective of this initiative is to promote healthy rivalry, in the belief that beyond sporting confrontation, sport and culture unite us. In short, it’s a cultural activity arranged by two rival football clubs that seek to promote togetherness through the rivalry.
Tickets for the match
San Mamés, with a large crowd in the stands, will be the ideal setting for the first women’s Bertsoderbi. Both members and fans in general can still buy tickets to attend the match, which kicks off at 12:00 CEST. Athletic Club members can purchase tickets at zero cost through the Members’ Txoko. Likewise, the general public can buy tickets through the website for €5, with tickets children under 15 years of age going for €2.
