The Athletic Club Foundation donates a thousand hospital gowns made with red and white shirts for boys and girls from Cruces Basurto and IMQ
It is an initiative that is part of the collaboration that the Foundation has been with Osakidetza for years and that aims to help, as far as possible, in the process of humanization of pediatric treatments. The presentation ceremony took place in the Press Room of San Mamés and was attended by Juan Carlos Ercoreca and Jon Vázquez Eguskiza, president and CEO of the Foundation, as well as Edurne Omaetxebarria, Medical Director of the Cruces University Hospital, and Eduardo Maiz Olazabalaga, Managing Director of the OSI Bilbao Basurto..
In addition to this gown initiative, which came to the Foundation through Panenka magazine and whose original idea comes from the “We are Xuxa” collective, other innovative aspects of the collaboration with Osakidetza have been announced at the press conference.
In this sense, the Foundation has designed new stickers that work as a medal to reinforce good attitudes among patients for treatments and that will be delivered to all health centers in Bizkaia. Likewise, he has also designed a diploma that will be given to children admitted to Cruces and Basurto hospitals, which certifies that they are “Supertxapeldunes” because of the way they behaved during treatment. The diploma is signed by the captains of Athletic Club Iker Muniain and Ainhoa Tirapu. Finally, the Foundation continues with the process of customizing different spaces of the Hospital de Cruces, with designs inspired by the values of the Athletic Club and that this course will reach new rooms of the Hospital de Cruces.
