The book club event was held at the Derio Cultural Centre, with an audience of 20 students from the TXORIERRI DERIO DBH school. Athletic legend Carlos Gurpegui accompanied Igor Porset at the event, where all the health measures required under the pandemic were observed. This book club is one of the schemes implemented by Fundación Athletic Club and Derio Municipal Council under their cooperation agreement, which was signed last September.
Foundation resumes "Athletic Reading Club”
Igor Porset, accompanied by Carlos Gurpegui, talked about his book Ser Williams [“Being Williams”] at an event organised in cooperation with Derio Municipal Council
Fundación Athletic Club, in cooperation with Derio Municipal Council, has organised the first face-to-face Athletic Club de Lectura book club session since the onset of the pandemic early in 2020. Book club meetings scheduled for several schools and cultural centres at that time had to be cancelled. Fundazioa, working in cooperation with Derio Municipal Council, has sought to bring back this initiative to mark this year’s World Book Day, which is to be held as usual on April 23. The book chosen to encourage reading is Ser Williams [“Being Williams”] by Igor Porset.
