Enrolment open for the Foundation's and UPV/EHU's university postgraduate course
After the success of the first edition of the Expert Degree in “Sport, Education and Coexistence: Protecting Children and Young People”, enrolment for the 2021/2022 academic year is now open for applications
Enrolment for the university postgraduate course created by the Athletic Club Foundation and the UPV/EHU, “Sport, Education and Coexistence: Protecting Children and Young People” is now open for the next academic year. The first edition in 2020/21 was a great success. The 20 students who filled all the places available have now received their Expert Degree, having completed their on-site internships in the Athletic Club Foundation’s social projects. This qualification is on the rise in terms of employment, following the approval on April 16 of the Organic Law on the Protection of Children and Young People from Violence. This law contains a chapter entirely dedicated to sport, which requires sports clubs to have a Child Protection Policy and a Child Protection Officer, and a minimum level of training in this area for sports staff.
Among the new features of next year’s course, it should be noted that the Basque Government has joined the project; the number of places has increased to thirty, ten more than last year; and there will now be financial aid to cover the cost of enrolment. In addition, the experience gained during the first academic year has proven to be invaluable in meeting the needs of children and young people in the field of sport. During the year, the people in charge of this postgraduate course organised two round tables with experts in the field from all over the world and took part in the 1st Ibero-American Week for the Protection and Good Treatment of Children in Sport.
