Eight elderly people from the IMQ Igurco residence take advantage of their first outing during the pandemic to visit the Athletic Club museum
The Athletic Club Foundation invited five men and three women from the IMQ Igurco Bilbozar elderly residence to visit the AC Museoa on Thursday. This is the first time they have left their residence in about a year and a half, as the pandemic confined them to their headquarters in Bilbozar, in the area of Bilbao La Vieja. Jon Vázquez Eguskiza, General Director of the Foundation, acted as a guide while the elderly people moved excitedly through the corridors and exhibitions of the museum and reminisced over some of Athletic’s most historic moments.
For about two hours, the eight Athletic fans enjoyed the many treasures of the AC Museoa. With an average age of 78 years, and having witnessed some of the Lions’ greatest achievements over the last century, memories and anecdotes were forthcoming as they contemplated photographs, videos, t-shirts, trophies, paintings and all sorts of valuable objects that make the Athletic Club museum one of the best football museums in Europe.
